Gray scale representation
Ordinary mechanical carving can't carve different points in different thickness in an economic way, so it doesn't have the form of gray scale. Laser engraving machine is to achieve engraving in the way of dots, which has a natural advantage in gray scale performance. For this reason, we try to use gray-scale expression form in carving design, which has the advantages of reducing the coloring process and saving the cost; on the other hand, it enriches the expression means of carving and increases the level of graphics. When the user is using it, first fill the figure with different gray levels (the text should be transformed into the figure first), and select black and white mode for carving output. You can try the effect of different dots, with the accuracy generally not more than 500dpi.
1. Log (raw wood)
Wood is the most commonly used laser processing material so far, which is easy to carve and cut. Light colored wood like birch, cherry or maple is easily vaporized by laser, so it is more suitable for carving. Each kind of wood sign has its own characteristics. Some of them are denser, such as hardwood. When carving or cutting, they need to use more laser power. We suggest that before carving unfamiliar wood, we should first study the carving characteristics.
In fact, there is not much difference between carving on plywood and carving on wood, but we should pay attention to the fact that the depth of carving should not be too deep. After cutting, the edge of plywood will also turn black like wood. The key is to see if plywood is made of that kind of wood.
Generally speaking, the carving on wood is usually in shade, and the depth of carving is generally required to be deep. In this way, the power setting is generally high. If you encounter hard wood, the color of the carved figure may become darker. If you want to make the color lighter, you can improve the carving speed, try carving several times. Some wood will produce some oil fume when carving, which will be attached to the wood surface. If there is paint on the wood, it can be wiped carefully with a wet cloth. If it is not painted, it may not be wiped clean, resulting in the surface contamination of the finished product.
The cutting depth of laser engraving machine is generally not deep. The maximum cutting depth depends on the wood material and laser power. If you want to cut very thick wood, you can slow down the cutting speed, but it may cause wood burning. During the specific operation, we can try to use large-scale lenses and adopt the method of repeated cutting.
After wood carving, there is generally a burning feeling. Matching with the wood background color has a kind of original artistic beauty. The depth of the color mainly depends on the laser power and carving speed. But some wood is usually softer, and you can't change its color (birch, for example) no matter what. For the coloring of the finished product, we can use propylene pigment.
